The Class of 1980 25th Reunion Schedule

Friday - November 11, 2005

Friday morning - will see the traditional 1980 Golf Tournament, part of the larger Alumni Association event.

Starting at 12:00 (noon) - Registration in the Charleston Riverview Hotel (formerly the Sheraton and Radisson; same place as the 20 th).

4:30 PM - We plan to dedicate the Class of 1980’s 25 th Reunion gift to The Citadel – the renovation of Mark Clark Hall Auditorium

The cadet twilight parade for the last four years has been from 5:00-5:35.

We set the Charleston harbor cruise, with heavy hors d’oeuvres and drinks, for a 7:00 p.m. departure from downtown Charleston’s Liberty Square (next to the SC Aquarium at the east end of Calhoun Street, looking out towards Mt. Pleasant) to give plenty of time to freshen up at your hotel room. The boat is much larger than the one we had for the 20 th, allowing greater freedom and comfort aboard with softer music so all can hear one another easily.

Saturday - November 12, 2005

The Citadel will set Saturday morning activities on campus (open barracks, Summerall Guards, and parade).

11:00 AM - We will open the football game hospitality tent on the Eastside (opposite the corps)

12:00 (Noon) - serve BBQ.

2:00 PM - Scheduled start of the game (should conclude just after 5:00 p.m.)

On Saturday afternoon, the Holliday Alumni Center will be open to all alumni during and after the game, but most of non-1980 members will have departed by 6:00 p.m., as we have booked the Alumni Center for our Saturday night party. Please feel free to stay and mix with alumni, go back to your room, or go out to dinner before the evening's main event.

7:30 PM - bar opening at Holliday Alumni Center

9:00 PM -12:00 (midnight) - performance of the locally famous East Coast Party Band.

We will have wristbands for class members and guests for the Saturday noon BBQ and evening in the Alumni Center, as we will have our own bar and food tables. We plan a silent auction for Saturday night to benefit the class gift to the college. Several of you have brought interesting items for past auctions, and we encourage that again. Caution: reserve Saturday dinner locations well in advance of arrival.
